Last day at Edisto...

Our last full day has turned out sunny and beautiful. Caleb dons a pair of sock puppets and proceeds to wake up Bennett... Papa and Caleb wait near the car before we go to breakfast.
We ate a hearty breakfast at the Sea Cow Cafe. It's always fun - and Friday mornings are much less crowded than Saturdays, when we normally go on our way out of town.
Back on the beach! Gorgeous day for shelling, reading, and kayaking!
A butterfly lights on the bag outside the tent. He almost flew into the tent!
Our set up...
We ended up putting a chair in the tent to keep it from blowing over.
Daddy and Caleb strolling...
Caleb has found a dead ghost crab and has put it inside his sand truck.
Adam seems to enjoy napping on the beach.
Now begins the time of searching for dolphins!
We site a few!
I zoomed in to get a close up of one that was swimming by.
A shrimp boat...
We saw lots of butterflies flitting everywhere! A horde would cover a bush, looking like living flowers. Sadly, I didn't have the camera with me the day they were floating by the hundreds.
A last look at the surf as the suns lowers into mid-afternoon.
Bennett and I went kayaking before dinner. Got to paddle among several dolphin up near the river.
Tracking back down past our put-in, viewing a possibility for next spring!
Jeff takes Caleb on one last bike ride on the beach.
Another beautiful sunset...
Bedtime draws nigh after a day at the beach!
Saturday morning, we pulled out about 10:30 - a few minutes behind schedule but the house was clean! Adam started crying after we stopped for lunch. After 20 minutes of non-stop screaming, we pulled over into a motel parking lot and let him stretch a bit. Caleb got to run around too.
Caleb is mimicking one of the moves from the Blue Man Group DVD he watched during the week... leg over head routine!
Adam is so very happy to be out of the car seat!
We pulled into Hendersonville about 6 PM - a little longer on the return than going down - but all ended well. Adam slept in short spurts the rest of the way home. And we all slept well in our own beds! Can't wait until next year!
