Thursday's terrific!

Thursday's forecast was for cloudy skies, 82 degrees, and wind. We woke up to rain again... but Jeff and I decided to check out Botany Bay Park when the rain quit. Turned out it was closed due to a special hunting event. So... we turned around, got a snap shot of the "unknown monument" across the street, and headed to Piggly Wiggly for some menu items.
Late afternoon, the sun did come back out! Jeff and I had an hour on the shore soaking in intermittent sun. The wind was a little cool but we were determined to enjoy the beauty.
At last!
About 5, the rest of the crew came out. It was cooling off, so we went down to the nearby covered pool. Adam is just about to chomp on the side!Caleb loves the water any time he can get in it!
Papa teaching Adam to float - he has such buoyancy!!
Caleb used the goggles for a short time - looking under water...
At 7 PM, I realized it was time to take a sunset picture. It had already fallen behind the island... maybe tomorrow night! Sure is pretty though...

Wednesday's wet!

Awoke to rain again Wednesday morning, but it cleared up enough to take out the bikes and the cart for a spin - and for some of us to take a stroller walk.
Adam enjoyed being pushed while butterflies fluttered by.
The live oak - a perfect tree for a photo op!
Rain began again at noon - but we came inside and played until nap time!
Dinner rolled around, and I cooked Low Country Boil... yum! Adam chewed on a corn cob while we ate! Loved it!
While the boys were being put to bed, Jeff, Bennett and I went to walk on the beach. It was low tide and the rain had mostly quit. We still had a few sprinkles off and on.
The small dots on my picture are salt drops I think. Not the moon, like it appears!

Tuesday's time!

Tuesday dawned clear and sunny! We started out with a trip to the beach. Caleb loves to take his dump truck complete with shovels and cups. Here he has on both his clogs and his daddy's clogs!
Jeff, Bennett and I went up to Edisto State Park to walk - looking for shark teeth! We walked about an hour to the inlet, unfortunately while the tide was coming in. (I didn't read the tide table right- wrong week!) A trio of sandpipers lead the way!We had been able to walk across sand bars a couple of years ago while shelling. Enjoyed watching larger waves as compared to the Sound side. Bennett's enjoying the surf - but thinking about Stephanye I'm sure!

A photo of the sunset from the balcony. I just about missed it - looking for my camera!
Sparkler time!

Monday's play time!

Monday turned out to be a rainy day - but we had some fun anyway! Had a ready-made pond in the back yard - perfect for learning to kayak for Caleb!
Adam enjoyed sitting in the "dry well" in the kayak...
It also was a HUGE puddle for splashing!
Posing with a palm tree...
I sat Adam on the couch for a pose! He's been such a sweet baby - fun to have on this trip! Glad we waited until he was 7 months old to come this year! He's almost crawling!
Eric is filling up the hot pot to make coffee. We kept refilling the 3 gallon container daily. It worked well for making tea, lemonade, and just when you needed some cold water!
We enjoyed a supper of steak and shrimp on the grill. Thankfully, the house covers the driveway - so Jeff and Eric had a dry place to grill. Here, Adam would really like to sink his teeth into the ribeye and taste that Chipotle! (Just a pose, of course!)
Look at that face!
After supper, the rain cleared and we got a short walk in. All the shoes left on the sand!
Papa and Adam in the wind!
The rest of us with the leftover clouds in the background.

Sunday fun!

Miss Chris got to play on the screened-in porch.
The water was not as warm early Sunday morning - Adam was not as excited to splash in the water or sit in the surf.
Caleb went out with Bennett and Papa in the kayaks. He loved it! (He's in the left kayak.)

Caleb is paddling a little on his own!

Angela and Mike came to visit, bringing a pot of fresh crabs to cook for lunch!
Adam entertaining us! He's sitting up so well now!

Angela took Miss Chris back to Beaufort for the week! Thanks Angela!
