August 26th... AM

Caleb and I had about 30 minutes together while Emily was visiting the doctor. We played in the Fletcher Valley Natural Foods parking lot and surrounding areas. As long as a boy has rocks and trucks, he's good to go - as the following pictures show.

The store has several large beds of rocks in front of it - so Caleb was quite content to sit there and play with his 2 trucks and watch the trucks and motorcycles go by in traffic.

He asked me to sit in the rocks but I found a crate to sit on while he played. Later, he decided we should both sit on it (that didn't happen! Ha!)

A crab apple kept his attention for a bit as he kicked it around and threw it! Alas, I kicked it under the boardwalk and that was the end of that. (Small green object at left of photo.)

Pushing a grocery cart was Caleb's next challenge. I sure can see how tall he's growing!

Laying down on the boardwalk - misunderstanding what I had asked him to do - but it made a cute picture anyway!

Last, I had Caleb pose for pictures while peeking through the bars of the boardwalk.

He's quite good at avoiding the camera, but occasionally says "cheese" when I ask him to.

An hour at Lake Julian...

Caleb and I went to Lake Julian today before meeting Bennett for lunch. We had a bag of bread crumbs and some close duck friends before long! Tossing some rocks in the lake...

Playing on the playground!

A fun time!

While I was in St. Louis...

the rest of the family went to Triple Falls in Dupont State Park. Caleb had a blast! (I think the guys did too!) Emily is behind the camera in all of the pictures but I hope to find one of her too!
Touching the waterfall!
What a fun way to cool off on a late summer's day...

August has arrived!

Took Caleb to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream, and then strolled through a nearby park. I had left my camera at home so these were taken with my cell phone... not too bad!
We think this is a machine left over from the Sayles Bleachery days, but Caleb called it a tractor.
He loves anything with steering wheels!
and of course, what child can resist rocks???

Is July over???

Such a fun month! A weekend ago we were celebrating Caleb's birthday - and now to wrap up! Angela and Caleb enjoy a "quiet" moment watching BLAST on TV Sunday afternoon. Playing cars again - this time rolling them down the bridge...
Looking a little tired Monday morning, but such a sweet face!
Another picnic at Lake Julian to thank teachers at Trinity. Caleb is learning how to use the bubble blowing machine that he got for his birthday.
