Saturday's snow pics

Late Friday night - still snowing!
We ended up with about 9" - the picnic table was impressive! A layer of sleet than covered the snow.

Looking out the back door...
Sliding in the saucer again... he wanted to be out playing rather than sledding!
Walking to the gazebo - and making snowballs!
Wiping the snow off the gazebo rails.
The Puma joins us, as Caleb called Annabelle.
Enjoying the swing briefly... a little cold to stay on it long.
Attempting to make snow angels - but he preferred to lay on his belly.
The temperature hovered in the upper 20's all day. Here a titmouse waits to fly to the bird feeder (see through the bay window.)
After playing outside, we came in to a fire and let Caleb dance some time away! The Imagination Movers are his inspiration here...
And reading by the fire... this just looked like a photo op! Great day!

January's snow! Friday 1/29

More happened in January than just snow - but this is a quick clip of Caleb on his new saucer.

Jeff and I are keeping Caleb this weekend as Asheville is expecting 6-10" of snow in the next 24 hours. Just in case Emily goes into labor 2 weeks early, Jeff will have Caleb and I can get down to hospital if necessary!

I took a picture as I turned onto Merrill's Cove. When I left at 2:30 to get Caleb, it wasn't snowing yet. An hour and a half later, this is the scene. Thankfully I had no trouble with my Subaru! Several cars were off in the ditch already....

in the neighborhood...

Caleb jumped out of the car and immediately wanted to play in the snow. So Jeff put on his mittens and got out the saucer. We have 2-3" already... we'll see how it adds up!

trying to taste a snowflake!
